Recognition for University of Aberdeen Professor
The motion
That the Parliament recognises Professor Derek Ogston CBE for his 70 years of service to the University of Aberdeen; understands that Professor Ogston studied for a career in medicine and has developed a strong interest in music; further understands that his support for the Opera Society and the King’s College Chapel Choir has led to exceptional opportunities for students, as well as his generous contributions to winners and finalists of the annual Ogston Music Performance Scholarship, and congratulates Professor Ogston on his achievements, as well as the students and music staff involved in the celebratory concert for him.
