Lead Scotland Celebrates 40 Years of Helping Disabled People and Carers
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Learning Education and Disability (Lead) Scotland on celebrating 40 years of helping disabled people and carers; recognises that the charity began in 1979 and provides learning, befriending and helpline services for disabled people and carers; understands that Lead Scotland held an afternoon tea event in Ellon to help mark its anniversary during the 2019 Volunteers’ Week; welcomes the recent award of £4,000 to the charity by the Tesco store in Ellon, which will be used to purchase accessible technology for learners and widen access to education for more disabled people and carers; commends the staff and volunteers at Lead Scotland on their work, and wishes the charity well.
