CLAN Cancer Support Receives National Lottery Funding
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates CLAN Cancer Support on receiving £293,973 from the National Lottery Community Fund to develop its services for individuals and families in the north east of Scotland and Northern Isles who are affected by cancer; understands that CLAN is an independent charity that relies on donations and fundraising, and that this grant will enable services to be further developed over the next three years; recognises that CLAN provides specialist emotional and practical support services that are free of charge to those who are affected by cancer, and that it has bases across the north east of Scotland, as well as in Kirkwall in Orkney; notes the remarkable work that CLAN staff, fundraisers and volunteers do to ensure that this high level of support and care is delivered in local communities; thanks everyone involved for the invaluable work that they do, and wishes them success in continuing to grow and widen access to these services.
