Ayrshire Dairy is Cream of the Crop at BBC Farming Awards
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Mossgiel Farm, a small dairy near Mauchline in East Ayrshire, on winning the Future Food Award at the BBC Food and Farming Awards 2019; understands that Mossgiel Farm, which was once tenanted by Robert Burns in the late 18th century, won the award for its innovative and diverse approach to farming, which has seen the business go from losing over £10,000 per month, as a result of plummeting milk prices, to a business that is now sustainable, fully organic and growing; further understands that the farm also takes its approach to the environment seriously and has ceased using single-use plastics and uses glass bottles for its milk, and wishes Mossgiel Farm all the very best for the future.
