Royal Highland Show 2019
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland on the 2019 Royal Highland Show, which will take place from 20 to 23 June at Ingliston; notes that the show is celebrating its 179th year; considers that it is one of Scotland's most iconic events, showcasing the very best of farming food and rural life; welcomes the more than 1,000 trade exhibitors, 2,150 livestock competitors and 6,500 animals that will attend; believes that its annual economic impact is over £65 million; understands that over 900 competitions will take place over the four days; welcomes the opportunity that the show offers to bring government, industry bodies, food producers and business leaders together; recognises what it sees as the vital role that it plays for the agricultural community, and wishes the organisers, competitors, volunteers, staff and sponsors, as well as the community in and around Ingliston, the best of luck following all their hard work to make the event a success.
