Orcadians John Copland and Steven Sandison Recognised by the Royal Agricultural Society
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates John Copland, who is from Orkney, on being awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Agricultural Society (RAS); acknowledges that this prestigious honour is the highest that can be granted by the RAS and is awarded to people who demonstrate outstanding service to, and achievement in, agriculture; believes that this is an entirely merited recognition of John’s five decades of service to agriculture in the islands and beyond and follows his award of an associateship in 2014; congratulates John's fellow Orcadian, Steven Sandison, on being awarded an associateship in recognition of his distinguished contribution to the sector; thanks John and Steven for their commitment and service to agriculture in Orkney, and wishes them all the best.
