Lodged by Alexander Stewart Standard Motion 14 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the P7 pupils from Crossgates Primary School, which is in Cowdenbeath, on winning the Advocacy Award at the 2019 School Mock Court Project in Edinburgh; understands that the cross-curricular initiative uses a mock court case to encompass a range of subjects, including art, journalism, debating and writing skills; notes that, with the assistance of their teacher, the children worked with staff from Fife Law Centre to prepare the case; acknowledges that they made their own gowns, which included the school tartan, and that their work included writing newspaper articles and creating art that showed the "solicitors" in court; recognises that this is the second successive year that the school has won this award; notes that it was the only winner from Fife, and commends all of the hard work and effort put in by the staff, pupils and parents.
