Edinburgh Future Parks Programme
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Edinburgh on being chosen to benefit from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the National Trust’s Future Parks programme; welcomes this initiative, which aims to secure the future of parks and green spaces across towns and cities; understands that 81 councils and communities applied but that only eight were successful; notes that Edinburgh plans to use the programme to focus on the creation of a 30-year strategy in line with its 2050 city vision; looks forward to the eight places across the UK, covering a population of five million, working together over the next two years to create new ways of managing green space, and wishes the programme much success in developing and conserving parks and urban green spaces.
