Greenwood Academy Pupils Collect Samples for Anthony Nolan Trust
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the pioneering pupils of Greenwood Academy on collecting samples in a bid to identify potential bone marrow and stem cell donors for the Anthony Nolan Trust; understands that this was undertaken in conjunction with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, which has been delivering donor recruitment since 2009; recognises that the Anthony Nolan Trust matches donors to people with blood cancer and blood disorders who desperately need lifesaving transplants; believes that this is the first such partnership event in a North Ayrshire school, and commends the bravery and selflessness of the 3,000 pupils and staff who joined the register.
