Lifeguards Gruelling Channel Challenge
The motion
That the Parliament supports Ashleigh Seymour, a former Magnum Leisure Centre lifeguard, in her gruelling challenge to swim the English Channel to raise money for the charity, Safe Passage; understands that she plans to take the plunge from Shakespeare Beach in Kent and swim the 21 miles to Cap Gris Nez in France; notes that the charity helps unaccompanied child refugees and vulnerable adults reunite with their relatives and transition to a new life; recognises that the window of opportunity for Ashleigh is between 17 and 21 July 2019, and wishes her every success.
