Raith Rovers Take Over 50 Walking Football Title
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Raith Rovers' Over 50 Walking Football Team on winning the Scottish Walking Football Festival 2019; understands that the third annual competition held in Glasgow Green saw over 70 teams compete in both the Over 50 and Over 65 competitions; notes that the team, consisting of the players, Martin Page, Willie Carroll, Brian Kinnear, Haig Hutchison, Derek Finnie, Scott Jackson, John Wylie, Charles Doherty and Ian Baker, and coached by Stephen MacCrimmon, beat Hearts on penalties to take the title; further notes that this was Raith Rovers' first time competing in the festival, and hopes that this is the first of many titles for the team.
