YAMS Secures Awards for All Scotland Funding
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates YAMS on receiving an award of £7,000 from the Awards for All Scotland programme as part of the National Lottery Community Fund; understands that YAMS is a group based in Newarthill in the Uddingston and Bellshill constituency, which has drop-in hubs for providing support; notes that the funding will allow for the expansion of these hubs and counselling and therapies, as well as the creation of two new fitness and wellbeing groups; understands that the group's work aims to be a preventative approach to mental health and wellbeing, working to reduce isolation and providing meaningful activity and giving self-management support to communities; believes that projects such as YAMS are of incredible importance in communities across Scotland, and wishes it well for the future.
