31st Anniversary of the Piper Alpha Disaster
The motion
That the Parliament acknowledges Irvine Maritime Museum for marking the 31st anniversary of the Piper Alpha disaster with a series of events, in association with Sue Jane Taylor’s Age of Oil exhibitions; understands that the last of these will be a panel discussion that includes one of the 61 surviving platform workers, Roy Carey, and remembers the 167 people who were killed when the oil and gas platform exploded in the North Sea in 1988.
