Darnley Coffee House Reduces Single-use Plastic
The motion
That the Parliament praises the work of the staff at Darnley Coffee House in Stirling city centre on reducing single-use plastic; notes that this includes introducing paper bags, giving customers discounts on using their own reusable takeaway cups for hot drinks and soup, offering further discounts for customers bringing their own containers for takeaway food and introducing compostable, disposable cutlery; believes that Darnley Coffee House is demonstrating leadership in what independent hospitality businesses can do to help tackle climate change and the problems caused by single-use plastic, and calls on businesses of all sizes to look to examples such as this and consider what they can do to help reduce single-use plastic.
