Port Glasgow High School Teachers Complete New Training Scheme
The motion
That the Parliament applauds teachers at Port Glasgow High School for receiving top marks after helping the school to become the first in Scotland to complete an intensive 12-month programme aimed at improving its classroom methods and the success of its students; understands that almost 50 teachers took part in the course, which involved filming lessons, critiquing their own performance and then being coached on areas identified for improvement; notes that the programme was delivered by the external agency, Osiris Educational, and that all staff were presented with certificates to acknowledge their achievements at a recent celebration of learning event in the school; commends Port Glasgow High’s efforts to improve the education that it provides to pupils, and hopes that other schools in Inverclyde and across Scotland undertake this course in future.
