Forth Valley Disability Sports Association
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Forth Valley Disability Sports Association (FVDS) on receiving £18,000 from the Big Lottery Fund’s Young Start Fund to provide a new sport and physical activity programme for young people with a physical, sensory or learning disability; understands that the charity, which covers the Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Council areas has a proud history of athletes competing at grass roots, regional, national and international level; believes that the new project will be delivered by a branch coordinator and will see 70 young people, supported by 20 volunteers, benefit over one year; notes that it will be a vehicle to enable them to make friends, develop a range of life skills, and move on to positive destinations in education, training and volunteering; congratulates FVDS on its work, and wishes it continued success delivering at all levels of sport, both at home and internationally.
