Funding for North West Dumfries
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Glentrool Park Steering Group and the Lincluden Community Centre on successfully securing funding of over £700,000 to transform both Glentrool and Popeye’s parks to help modernise the areas; notes that Glentrool Park has been awarded a massive funding boost of £348,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund to allow for the redevelopment of the play and recreation facilities to transform them to become accessible, attractive and usable for all in the local community; further notes that Popeye’s Park has been awarded £375,000, which will allow the park to be transformed into a rustic and natural play area for children, and will enable the landscape of the park to be changed to allow for tree planting and for renovation of the pond, as well as for additional seating, and wishes everyone involved well for these two vital projects for north west Dumfries.
