Nicholas Russell Given Iron Man Status
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Nicholas Russell, the owner and managing director of Balbirnie House Hotel, on claiming the title as an Iron Man after completing a challenge in Austria; notes that Nicholas is a member of the Glenrothes Triathlon Club and trained progressively for years in preparation for the endeavour, which included a 2.4-mile swim in Lake Wörthersee, a 112-mile bike ride, followed by a marathon run with circuits around Klagenfurt and Krumpendorf; understands that he was among 3,270 athletes taking part from all over the world, and, with all stages set under time clock challenges, only 2,488 were able to complete the challenge, and wishes Nicholas every success.
