Sarah Everett Wins Patient’s Choice Award
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Sarah Everett from Kilbarchan on winning the Patient’s Choice Award at the 2019 RCNi Nurse Awards 2019 on 3 July; recognises that this award allows the public to thank a nurse, midwife, health visitor, healthcare assistant or assistant practitioner who has provided exceptional care; understands that Sarah, who is a practice sister at Govan Health Centre, was nominated for her work as the driving force behind the Men’s Shed group in Govan, which she established after realising many of her patients were experiencing social isolation; believes that the project now addresses men’s isolation and loneliness and the lack of positive activities for men who no longer have anywhere to go each day; notes that the 2019 Patient’s Choice Award attracted thousands of votes from patients, colleagues, healthcare professionals and members of the public alike , demonstrating the importance of this in recognising nurses’ achievements nationwide; congratulates Sarah on all her hard work in reaching this landmark achievement, and wishes her all the best.
