Haven Centre in Blantyre Receives Funding
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Haven Centre in Blantyre on its recent grant of £72,507 from the National Lottery Community Fund; recognises the continuous support which the Haven provides for local people and families who have been affected by life-limiting illness; understands the funding is to be applied to a peer support programme, which seeks to help up to 70 young people who are coping with bereavement or have family members with life-limiting illnesses; notes the essential contribution of 20 volunteers in these plans, and thanks the Centre for the ongoing support it provides in Lanarkshire.
