Fujifilm Employees' 24-hour Challenge for the British Heart Foundation
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates 14 employees of Fujifilm in Grangemouth, Manchester and Broadstairs in Kent on completing the Three Peaks Challenge within 24 hours to raise money and awareness for the British Heart Foundation (BHF); notes that the team from across the Fujifilm workforce embarked upon the challenge to climb the UK’s three highest peaks, Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, within 24 hours in memory of their friend and colleague, Dr Rupert McIntyre, who died from a heart attack in 2018; understands that, in completing this challenge, the team raised £17,606 for BHF; considers the work of BHF as vital to tackling the world’s biggest killers of heart and circulatory disease; commends the initiative to provide CPR training in schools in order to create a nation of lifesavers and help increase the chances of surviving an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest; notes the involvement of the guides, drivers and support teams helping the Fujifilm team reach the peaks, and commends them on their fundraising efforts in memory of their friend.
