First Modern Apprenticeship for Irvine’s Maritime Museum
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Edel McCarthy on becoming the first-ever Boat Building and Repair Modern Apprentice at Irvine’s Scottish Maritime Museum; understands that Edel will learn traditional and modern boat building skills at the Museum's Scottish Boat Building School over the next three years; notes that the position was created to stem the industry’s growing skills shortage and to support Scotland’s ambitious Marine Tourism Strategy, and wishes Edel every success with the apprenticeship.
