A Tribute to the Guide Dog, Jack
The motion
That the Parliament pays tribute to the retired guide dog, Jack, who passed away recently; notes that, along with his partner Margaret Hutchison from Kirkintilloch, he helped to raise over £15,000 for Guide Dogs Scotland to train new puppies; acknowledges that Jack was partnered with Margaret, who is registered blind and is an active member of East Dunbartonshire Visually Impaired People’s Forum, in 2007; appreciates that, as well as being her guide and helping with the fundraising, Jack also attended fundraising events and took part in school visits to raise awareness about Guide Dogs Scotland, and understands that, in memory of her long-time companion, Margaret will name the latest puppy to be funded by her and Jack's efforts "J.J" or "Jack junior".
