Renewed Vision for Bladnoch Distillery
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Scotland’s most southerly distillery, Bladnoch, which is near Wigtown in south west Scotland, on its official reopening after almost six years of renovation; notes that Bladnoch has existed for 202 years, creating its unique lowland single malt whisky using mineral-rich water from the river Bladnoch; understands that the distillery has a dynamic new team in place, headed by the owner, David Prior, Manager, Neil Bulloch, and Master Distiller, Dr Nick Savage, who will ensure the world-class quality and standard of the products coming from Bladnoch; notes that the café will open in the coming weeks and that the visitor centre is already open and that tours are taking place; further notes the plans to engage with the community and businesses as facilities at Bladnoch can accommodate meetings, events and seminars; encourages everyone to visit and experience Bladnoch, and wishes the team every success as they take the business forward.
