A Safe Route For Walking And Cycling Between Gullane And Drem
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes East Lothian Council’s imminent publication of draft designs for a four-mile cycle and walking path linking Gullane and Drem; understands that council-appointed consultants, which have been funded by Sustrans Scotland, will provide an update on 2 August 2019 regarding the feasibility report and masterplan; believes that this could help to establish a much-needed path offering a safe route for cyclists and walkers, away from a dangerous main road; commends the campaigners’ dedication to pursue this issue; encourages East Lothian Council to now commit to funding the path and setting a timetable for construction, and looks forward to seeing the vision of the area's campaigners becoming a reality.
