That the Parliament appreciates Edinburgh International Festival's (EIF) efforts in working with over 100 schools and community groups across Edinburgh and beyond in the last 12 months; recognises that EIF aims to reach as many people as possible of all ages both locally and internationally, and is committed to ensuring the annual global celebration of culture is accessed by all through a year-round bespoke programme of projects and opportunities; understands that the work focuses on four key pillars of activity: children, young people, talent development and communities; further understands that these activities include number of year-round creative projects that engage children who are in school years up to P7 with music, theatre, opera, visual art, literacy and health and wellbeing; appreciates that, for young people, there are a number of projects that range from explorations of the artforms through to opportunities to participate and perform at the Festival, and welcomes EIF's dedication to supporting emerging and established talent in Scotland and ensuring that all the people who live in Edinburgh and beyond are able to share in and experience the festival.
