Edinburgh Fringe Voted Top UK Travel Experience
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the Lonely Planet Ultimate United Kingdom Travelist report, which ranks the Edinburgh Festival Fringe at the top of the 500 must-do experiences in the UK; understands that the Fringe, which is the world's largest arts festival, was voted in first place by travellers asked to rank their most memorable experiences; believes that the guide recognised that nowhere could beat the Fringe for spectacle, scale, or variety featuring theatre, comedy, dance, circus, cabaret, opera, music, and spoken word at all times of the day; appreciates that Glencoe and Arthur's Seat are also in the top 20 and that there are 67 Scotland-based entries on the list, and believes that the success of the Fringe is a true reflection of the creativity, energy and imagination of the artists, crew, staff, volunteers and audiences that come to Edinburgh each year.
