The Port Glasgow Voluntary Trans-Port Group
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the £10,000 award from Strathclyde Partnership for Transport to the Port Glasgow Voluntary Trans-Port Group; notes that the community bus service, which is well known for its red minibuses, provides travel in the Inverclyde area for older and disabled people and care home residents and adults with additional support needs who attend day centres, with around 500 people using the service each week; acknowledges that it is run entirely by volunteers from a base at Devol Industrial Estate; believes that such services offer a lifeline for people who might struggle to make use of public transport on their own; thanks all volunteers who give up their time to help people in their community, and sends its best wishes to the Port Glasgow Voluntary Trans-Port Group.
