Congratulations to the Mey Games
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Mey Highland Games Committee on the success of the recent Mey Games in John O'Groats; recognises that this is one of only two games in Scotland with Royal Patronage and has the Duke of Rothesay as the Chieftain; understands that the attendance was the highest since the games began; notes that there was a record number of athletes competing in heavy events, including army veterans and members of Help for Heroes; further notes the success of the first appearance of the Ardblair Stones, the Inverness Military Wives Choir and the launch of the official Mey Games Whisky and Mey Games Gin; applauds everyone that took part in the events, including the Highland dancing, piping, the dog show, the children and family events and the commemorative Charlie Simpson Memorial Walk, and wishes the Games every success for next year.
