Glenrothes Pipe Band Crowned World Champions
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Glenrothes and District band on finishing top in the grade four A league at the international contest at Glasgow Green in August 2019; acknowledges that the band’s success comes less than a decade after the group reformed; notes that musicians of all ages performed in the contest, with the youngest drummer being aged 13; understands that the band are now raising funds for new drums which they hope will enable them to compete at a higher level in 2020, and wishes the best for the future to all involved in the band.
