Irvine Brass Band Takes its Concert to New Heights
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Irvine and Dreghorn Brass Band on playing a unique concert at the top of Ben Nevis; understands that 12 members played The Proclaimers classic hit, I’m Gonna Be (500 miles), to 200 onlookers at the summit; further understands that this was in an effort to raise funds to start a new brass and percussion academy as well as to help the band travel to Cheltenham for the UK Brass Band Championships; commends the commitment and dedication of the 12 band members, and wishes them every success in the future.
