Shaper Caper #justwannadance
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Shaper Caper on securing a £7,000 Awards for All Scotland grant from Creative Scotland; understands that the group will use the funding to create and deliver a series of dance theatre performances in Dundee, which will take inspiration from local anecdotes and stories to showcase the legacy of the town to the local community; notes that Shaper Caper has provided over 14,000 opportunities to perform and worked with 140 schools in the last year, and works with over 9,200 children and young people every year; considers that, under the direction of its award-winning choreographer, the group has achieved unparalleled acclaim and success for its works, including Within this Dust, which explores the events surrounding 9/11 and was presented to audiences at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum at the World Trade Center in New York, and wishes everyone involved continued success in the future.
