Drunk Plane Passengers

Lodged by John Mason Standard Motion 5 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament recognises the recently released, and what it considers very concerning, statistics suggesting that there have been 400 arrests at UK airports for alcohol-related misbehaviour in the last two years; understands that this drunken behaviour has led to some cases of staff experiencing sexual abuse, reports of people urinating in public and passengers having to be taken off aircraft for being unable to comply with the safety rules, causing flight disruption; acknowledges that Glasgow Airport recorded the third highest numbers of arrests; expects that all employees at airports, as well as all passengers and visitors, should be able to work and travel free from alcohol-induced crime, and encourages the limiting of alcohol sales in airports and on planes.
