Viewpark Conservation Group
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the £10,000 Awards for All Scotland National Lottery Community Fund grant that has been given to the Viewpark Conservation Group to deliver a series of events to encourage the community to use the newly-purchased and community-owned Douglas Support Estate in the Uddingston and Bellshill constituency; notes that the group will also deliver a community open day, a Halloween event and a Christmas event to encourage people to enjoy this special and historic outdoor space; acknowledges that the group, and in particular Tom and Grace McNeill, has been instrumental in getting this funding and protecting the estate as a community asset, and believes that Tom and Grace's work, along with that of the group, is of the utmost importance so that the community can continue to enjoy the great outdoors.
