World's Largest Ocean Data Centre
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the announcement by Simec Atlantis of its plans to create the world's largest tidal-powered data centre at the MeyGen Turbine site in Caithness; notes that this project would be the first ocean-powered data centre in the world, creating the possibility of attracting a hyper-scale data centre operator to Scotland; recognises that the completed data centre would be connected to multiple international sub-sea fibre optic cables, and commends the ambition of Simec Atlantis in bringing this exciting project and associated jobs to the far north.
