The Data Lab Hub

That the Parliament welcomes the opening of The Data Lab hub for the Highlands and Islands at An Lòchran, at the Inverness Campus on 19 September 2019; understands that the hub will provide the Highlands and Islands with a dedicated centre for data and AI to support the sector’s growth across the region; notes that the centre complements the recent opening of the new innovation centre in Aberdeen and further strengthens the ongoing relationship with Highlands and Islands Enterprise; further notes that the hub will build on local partnership and engagement over recent years with a wide range of companies and organisations, including DataFest events, engagement with some 746 organisations and companies and presentations at numerous external events, and believes that The Data Lab hub will help build momentum to create further growth and opportunities within the data, tech and AI sector throughout the Highlands and Islands.
