Improved Accessibility at Stirling Railway Station
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the opening of the new footbridge and lift at Stirling railway station, which makes platforms 9 and 10 fully accessible; recognises that, since the Stirling to Alloa railway line opened in 2008, both Transport Scotland and Network Rail have been working to find a solution to improve accessibility for passengers using the service; understands that the enhancement was part of the wider project to electrify the Stirling-Dunblane-Alloa route as part of a Scottish Government-funded investment delivered by Network Rail, and considers that the £4 million investment will be welcomed by local people, will make a real difference to passengers with limited mobility and helps to make the railway more accessible to everyone in the community.
