International Day of Peace
The motion
That the Parliament celebrates International Day of Peace on 21 September 2019; upholds the aspirations of the day, namely to strengthen the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples; welcomes the 2019 theme, Climate Action for Peace, which draws on UN Sustainable Development Goal 13, Climate Action, and which it notes calls for immediate action by all nations to lower greenhouse emissions, build resilience and improve education on climate change; agrees that climate change causes clear threats to international peace and security, and believes that it is essential and possible to live in peace with our own climate.
