Cambusbarron Rovers Stalwart Nominated for Grassroots SFA Award
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Gary Grahamslaw of Cambusbarron Rovers AFC on being shortlisted for the People’s Choice Award at the Scottish FA Grassroots Awards 2019; understands that Gary is a founder member of the football club where he has been club secretary for over 35 years; notes that his tasks over the years have ranged from pitch preparation, cleaning changing rooms, washing strips, maintaining the pavilion and essential fund-raising to ensure the club’s survival; recognises that perhaps his greatest achievement at Cambusbarron has been to ensure the club’s continuity over the years by developing hundreds of players and coaches; understands that his latest project is entitled "Wee Rovers", which is intended to create a legacy for young players in and around the village; believes that Gary would be a worthy winner of the award and considers that he is an outstanding ambassador for the club, village and community he serves, and wishes him, and all the other nominees shortlisted, the best of luck.
