Lion Cubs Born at Edinburgh Zoo

That the Parliament congratulates Edinburgh Zoo and its two Asiatic lions on the birth of three lion cubs; welcomes the three-week-old cubs, which are currently receiving privacy, peace and quiet from the public, under the protection of mum, Roberta, and Dad, Jayendra; looks forward to the cubs being weighed, sexed and named in the next few weeks; recognises the importance of this event as Asiatic lions, which can only be found in the Gir Forest of India, are highly endangered with only about 350 left in the wild; notes that Edinburgh is proud to be part of protecting this beautiful species; expresses sadness for the two cubs in the litter that did not make it through the first few weeks, but hopes for the best for the remaining three as they go through the most critical part of their life, and excitedly awaits the lion enclosure being reopened so that the public can enjoy watching them and be educated on the importance of preserving the vast number of endangered species around the world.
