Forth Valley College Modern Apprenticeship Success
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the news that Forth Valley College is on course to become one of the largest trainers of modern apprentices (MA) as the 2019-20 session begins; congratulates it on surpassing its Skills Development Scotland MA target for the year by 11% and for growing its MA provision by 44% since 2017; understands that MA contract starts at the college have risen from 336 to 362, with Engineering confirming 156 and Construction having 101; notes that they earn a wage and gain an industry-recognised qualification; welcomes investment by the Scottish Government that aims to reach what it sees as an ambitious 30,000 new start target by 2020, with 27,000 currently starting every year, and wishes every student at the college all the best with their studies.
