The Dream – You Can Do This
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the news that ng homes has received a £9,980 National Lottery Awards for All Scotland grant from the National Lottery Community Fund; understands that ng homes will use the funding toward its "The Dream – You Can Do This" project; notes that this will involve 90 children from local primary schools and community hubs creating a comic book focused on the dreams and aspirations of young people; understands that the project is also in partnership with Tony Fitzpatrick, and is based on his story of Babakoochi Bear, who overcomes challenges and opposition to achieve his dream; welcomes that the project will focus on four key principles; care of the environment, good citizenship, health and wellbeing and respect for self and others; understands that the final comic book will be shared with around 3,000 young people; congratulates ng homes and partners on seeking to engage with young people in a creative and innovative way to develop positive learning outcomes and life skills for the participants, and wishes everyone involved in the project an enjoyable and rewarding experience.
