Dundee Michelin Factory to Become High-tech Innovation Centre
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the plans to transform the Dundee Michelin factory into a high-tech innovation centre; understands that the space, which will be known as the Michelin-Scotland Innovation Parc, will aim to be a world-class hub for sustainable transport and low-carbon energy; believes that more than 30 companies have expressed interest in the site; hopes that this will help replace many of the 845 jobs threatened by Michelin’s announced closure; believes that collaboration and reinvested skill will be key to revitalising the site, and looks forward to the future possibilities that it believes this could create for the region.
