Success for GMB Members' ISS Pay What You Owe Campaign
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the resolution of the GMB dispute with ISS at University Hospital Hairmyres; understands that around 300 staff, including cleaners, porters, maintenance, housekeeping and security staff, received two weeks’ pay for three weeks’ work in May 2019 following the implementation of ISS’s Project Greenfield payroll model; believes that ISS’s offer for full repayment was as a result of GMB’s proposed industrial action and public campaigning; congratulates GMB members on their "ISS pay what you owe" campaign, which it considers forced the employer to repay the detriment in full; recognises this as a fantastic example of what can be achieved when workers stand up and stand together, and commends the support that it considers was evident in the community, which was very much appreciated by GMB members.
