Restoring Trust in Criminal Sentencing
The motion
As an amendment to motion S5M-18896 in the name of Liam Kerr (Restoring Trust in Criminal Sentencing), leave out from "believes" to end and insert "recognises the benefits of diversion from prosecution, alternatives to custodial sentences and a presumption against short sentences; notes calls for the Scottish Prison Service to reinstate its Throughcare Support Service, and supports calls on the Scottish Government to demonstrate this commitment by ensuring a significant transfer of resources from the prison estate to community-based alternatives."
