Electric Vehicles at Public Chargepoints Across East Lothian
The motion
That the Parliament expresses concern at the decision taken by East Lothian Council's Cabinet to introduce a new tariff structure for charging electric vehicles at public chargepoints across East Lothian; notes that this charge is due to be implemented from winter 2019-20; notes that costs will be 30p per kWh for rapid chargepoints and 16p per kWh for all other chargepoints; recognises the importance of electric vehicles in the reduction of fossil fuel emissions, and urges East Lothian Council to review this decision to encourage more environmentally-friendly travel.
