The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Colin Price and the organisers of Joan’s Memorial Concerts, who have raised £8,500 for charity over the last three years; understands that the concerts have been organised in memory of Colin’s wife, Joan, a successful brass band musician who died in a road traffic accident as she was heading home from a band rehearsal; notes that each concert has featured three brass bands, the Dunaskin & Doon Band, Irvine & Dreghorn Brass Band and Kilmarnock Concert Brass, each of which has had an opportunity to select the charity in one of the three years that the event has been running; further notes that these charities were BRAKE, the road safety charity, in 2017, Beautiful Inside & Out, in 2018, and Irvine & Troon Cancer Care, in 2019; commends JLL Groundworks, McTaggart’s Builders, Corsehill Dental Care and Hamilton Tarmac, which have all backed the event to ensure that every penny raised goes to charity, as well as the Forum Café in Kilmarnock, which supplied ice cream for the interval, and applauds Colin, his fellow organisers, the members of the bands and all those who have attended the concerts for their efforts to support these important charities and celebrate Joan's memory.
