Port of Cromarty Firth Sustainability Award
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Port of Cromarty Firth on winning the Sustainability Award at the first-ever Maritime UK Awards held on 19 September 2019 in Southampton; notes that the awards celebrate businesses and organisations from throughout the maritime sector, which is worth £46.1 billion to the UK economy; further notes that the port has doubled its revenue in the last six years; acknowledges that it has opened up its facilities to provide more opportunities for local companies, including a unique open port policy where its supply chain could bid for work under its decommissioning licences; understands that one in six jobs in the Invergordon area relate port activities, and wishes the port every success in the future.
