West Edinburgh Development

That the Parliament acknowledges the announcement of a new £100,000 study that is looking into the future development of west Edinburgh; understands that it is expected to act as a master plan covering a wide range of projects, including the Garden District plan for thousands of new homes, including a focus on current infrastructure and economic potential for the area; considers that there are currently insufficient services and infrastructure to support the new housing and that, firstly, services and infrastructure must be improved before any further planning goes ahead, and hopes that the study will focus on building sustainable communities across west Edinburgh.
