Branston Court Maryhill Receives Asda Foundation Funding

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Branston Court on receiving £500 from the Asda Foundation; acknowledges that Branston Court in Maryhill is supported accommodation that provides 24-hour support to young people in Glasgow, many of whom are affected by multiple family-related social and personal issues; understands that it offers a safe environment for 22 people and provides young people with opportunities to take part in tenancy sustainment workshops, as well as group work that helps to enhance their self-esteem and their budgeting and financial skills; notes that service users are supported with access to external agencies that can assist them with health, education and social care issues; understands that internal referrals to Glasgow Reach Out allows people to be supported, ready to transition from Branston Court into a tenancy of their own, with less intensive support, and acknowledges the aim to build confidence and provide life skills and opportunities to progress into managing a secure tenancy.
